Gen 2:5 Now no shrub of the field had yet grown on the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground.
The No Lack Farm started as a dream born out of frustration and a strong dissatisfaction with the condition of our food system back in 2011. My wife and my newborn both had significant health issues, and the more we researched, the answer remained the same. We had to eat healthier whole foods and less processed garbage. I grew up in a family with a deep lineage of farming, although my parents themselves didn’t farm. But nevertheless, I grew up being exposed to agriculture through my grandparents, and uncles. I was also active in 4-H and served as an officer in my high school Future Farmers of America chapter. But at this point I had moved from the rural environment that I grew up in and had been living in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA for about a decade.
I’ll spare you the details of all the ups and downs that got us to the big decision to sell everything and move in 2017. But that’s exactly what we did. We sold almost everything we owned and purchased a plot of undeveloped land in rural Alabama and as the old saying goes, “the rest is history!”
In 2017, The No LACK Farm took root on some very neglected land. With prayer, hard work, and a few tears, the once-neglected acreage transformed into a thriving sanctuary where life flourishes harmoniously.
Here at The No LACK Farm, we delve into the depths of regenerative agriculture and permaculture practices. Our mission is to exemplify how humankind was originally meant to steward creation and to construct a like-minded community that resonates with the essence of Psalms 34:9. Join us in this journey!
The earth is our canvas, and we are the artists painting a sustainable future. Together, we weave a tapestry of harmony and abundance. Join us as we nurture the land with care and purpose. Together, we can make a difference.
To quote Will Harris of White Oak Pastures in Bluffton, GA.
“We do not strive to feed the world, we strive to feed our community.
And, we know the way we farm is good for the land, the livestock, our community and our customers.”
